Effective 25 October 2026 · Public beta
In short: we store your account and workspace data on servers in Germany, send review text through OpenRouter to OpenAI’s models to analyze it (with OpenAI’s storage option switched off), share data only with the providers listed below, never sell it, and let you delete your account and workspaces yourself. The details follow.
1. Who we are
RevyLens (“we”, “us”) is a review-analysis service for mobile app teams, available at revylens.com. It is currently in public beta and is run by its founder as an individual operator; no separate company has been formed yet. We decide why and how your account data is processed, which makes us the controller of that data for data-protection purposes.
When a workspace owner connects an app and imports its reviews, we process those reviews on the workspace’s behalf to provide the service. The workspace owner decides which apps are connected and who can see the results.

2. What we collect
| Category | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name, email address and a salted password hash. If you sign in with Google, the name and email address Google provides (and a profile image link, where Google gives one). | You, or Google when you choose Google sign-in |
| Sessions and security | A session token, the IP address and browser user-agent recorded for each session, hashed IP addresses used for rate limiting and audit entries, and failed sign-in events. | Your browser and our servers |
| Workspace content | Workspace name, members, roles and invitations (including the email address of people you invite), connected apps, tags, notes, saved views, shared links, reports, briefs, alerts and exports. | You and your teammates |
| Reviews and analysis | Store reviews for connected apps: title, text, star rating, app version, device or platform, country and language, date, and the reviewer’s public display name where the store provides it. Also what we derive from them: translations, sentiment, severity, issue and request clusters, and numeric embeddings used for search. | Apple App Store Connect and Google Play, using the credentials you connect; or public store listings for the free analyzer |
| Ask RevyLens | The questions you type (up to 500 characters) and the answers and evidence we assemble. Investigations are private to the person who started them. | You |
| Store and integration credentials | App Store Connect keys, Google Play service-account credentials, and Slack or GitHub connection tokens, if you connect them. | You |
| Public analyzer | The store link you paste, the public reviews we read for it, a hashed IP address (to limit abuse) and an access cookie. No account is needed. | You and the public store listing |
| Messages | Anything you send through the contact-sales form or by email. | You |
We do not collect payment card details: paid billing is not active during the beta. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
3. How we use it, and our legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Create and secure your account, sign you in, run your workspace, import and analyze reviews, and send service emails such as email verification, password reset and invitations. | Performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)). |
| Prevent abuse and fraud, rate-limit requests, keep the service stable and secure, and keep backups. | Our legitimate interests in running a safe service (Article 6(1)(f)). |
| Answer your questions and requests, including sales inquiries. | Legitimate interests, or steps taken at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b) and (f)). |
| Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests. | Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)). |
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
4. AI processing
RevyLens uses AI models, reached through OpenRouter, to read, translate, cluster and search reviews, to name and check issue and request clusters, to explain releases, and to answer Ask RevyLens questions. What we send depends on the feature:
- Review analysis: the review title and text, star rating, app version, platform, review date and detected language. Reviewer display names are not included in these requests.
- Translation and search embeddings: the review text and title. Embeddings are numeric representations stored in our database.
- Ask RevyLens: your question and a size-limited set of review excerpts and statistics relevant to it.
- Cluster naming, validation and release explanations: short excerpts and counts drawn from your reviews.
Every one of these requests goes through OpenRouter (OpenRouter, Inc., United States), an API gateway that forwards the request to the company that runs the model, currently OpenAI. OpenRouter and that model provider therefore both receive the data listed above. We set OpenAI’s store option to off on each request. OpenRouter states in its privacy policy that it does not use inputs or outputs for model training; how long OpenRouter and the model provider keep request data, and whether the provider trains on it, is governed by their own policies, which can change. Where OpenAI serves a request, its published data-controls documentation says data sent to its API is not used for training unless an organization opts in, and that it keeps API abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless the law requires longer. See OpenRouter’s privacy policy and OpenAI’s privacy policy.
AI output can be wrong. Nothing in RevyLens makes a decision about you that has legal or similarly significant effects; the results describe reviews, not people.
5. Who receives data
These service providers process data for us, only as needed to run RevyLens:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Hetzner Online GmbH (Nuremberg, Germany) | Hosting of the application, database, files and backups | All data described in this policy |
| OpenRouter, Inc. (United States) | API gateway that forwards every AI request to the model provider (see section 4) | Review text and the other fields listed in section 4 |
| OpenAI (model provider, reached through OpenRouter) | AI analysis, translation, embeddings and Ask (see section 4) | Review text and the other fields listed in section 4 |
| Resend | Sending service emails | Your email address and the content of the email |
| Sign-in with Google; Google Play Developer API when you connect Play | Name, email and profile details you authorize; Play review data | |
| Apple | App Store Connect API when you connect it; public App Store listings for the free analyzer | App and review data for your app, or the public listing |
| Slack and GitHub | Only if you connect them: posting alerts or digests, and creating issue tickets | The content you choose to send, and the connection token (stored encrypted) |
Stripe is built into the product for future paid plans but is not active, so no data is sent to it today. If that changes we will update this policy first. Within a workspace, other members can see the workspace’s reviews, notes and shared items according to their role. Shared links you create can be opened by anyone with the link until they expire or you revoke them.
We may disclose data if the law or a valid legal process requires it, or to protect the service and its users from harm.
6. International transfers
Our servers are in Germany. Some providers, notably OpenRouter and OpenAI, may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where personal data from the EEA or UK is transferred, the transfer relies on the mechanisms our providers make available for it, such as standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for details at s.mohsunlu.dev@gmail.com.
7. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Sign-in sessions | 30 days from creation, or until you sign out or delete your account. |
| Account and workspace content | Until you or the workspace owner delete it, or you delete your account (see section 8). |
| Reviews | Kept while the app stays connected. Reviews older than your plan’s history window (90 days on Starter, 24 months on Pro and Scale) are removed by a scheduled job. |
| Raw copy of the store’s original response for a review | 30 days, then cleared. |
| Free public analyses | 24 hours, then removed by a scheduled job. |
| Export files | Deleted when their 24-hour download window closes; failed exports are removed after 30 days. |
| Delivery records for Slack and similar sends | Removed 90 days after they finish. |
| Revoked or expired share links | Removed after 180 days. |
| Resolved alerts | Removed after 180 days. |
| Failed briefs | Removed after 30 days. |
| Server logs | Our web server and application write logs that include IP addresses, requested paths and browser details. They rotate by size and are not kept as long-term records. |
| Backups | A full database backup is taken nightly and kept for 14 days. Snapshots taken before software updates are kept until we remove them, which may be longer. |
| AI request logs kept by OpenRouter or the model provider | Set by their own policies; OpenAI states up to 30 days for its abuse-monitoring logs (see section 4). |
8. Deleting your data and your rights
Delete your account. Open Settings in the workspace and use the account deletion control. Your account is disabled and you are signed out immediately. After a 7-day grace period, during which you can cancel it by emailing s.mohsunlu.dev@gmail.com from the account's address (we then restore the account exactly as it was), a background job removes your sign-in methods, replaces your name and email address with placeholders, and deletes any workspace you solely own together with everything in it. If you own a workspace that has other members, you must first transfer ownership; the workspace then stays in place and you are removed as a member. Notes or other items you added to a shared workspace may remain there without your name.
Delete an app or a workspace. The product currently offers account deletion in Settings. To have a connected app or a whole workspace deleted, a workspace owner can email us and we will submit the deletion request, which follows the same 7-day grace period.
Backups. Deleted data is not removed from existing backups immediately. It disappears as those backups expire (section 7), and we do not restore deleted accounts from backup except to recover from a failure.
Your rights. Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a portable copy, restrict or object to some processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can export workspace data as CSV from the product. For anything else, or to use a right we cannot offer in the product, email s.mohsunlu.dev@gmail.com. We reply within one month and may need to confirm your identity first. We do not discriminate against anyone for using these rights. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
9. Security
Traffic to revylens.com uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Store and integration credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using versioned keys held outside the database, and are never kept in your browser. Access to a workspace is limited by role, and each workspace’s data is isolated from every other workspace’s. Sign-in and other sensitive endpoints are rate limited, and we set strict browser security headers.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
11. Children
RevyLens is built for professionals and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the product changes, for example before we enable paid billing or add a provider. The effective date at the top shows the current version. For significant changes we will notify account holders by email or in the product.
